Part 1 CADE

“Hey! Stop It!” Michelle just got into class and the boys are already bullying her. I feel sad for her. Oh, BTW, My name is Corina Robert and I have the coolest life. I am recently the most popular girl in school but don’t worry, I’m nice. And beside me, one of my best friends, Allysha Bingkasan says, “Aww, I pity her. Can’t she fend for herself even once?” “No, she can’t do that. They’ll just hate her even more. Am I right or am I right?” my other best friend, Darrelyn Liew says. “Yeah, you’re probably right…” “Course I am. I’m Darrelyn.” I am too busy daydreaming to join in their conversation.

I recall the time when we used to have a group named CADE. We were great friends; at least I was with Darrelyn and Allysha. Elaine… Not so sure. Well, let me start from the beginning.
It all started on the 26th of June 2009. I think… Anyway, Darrelyn was sitting beside me and in front of her, Elaine Thien. They were talking about some ‘secret’ they have about their current obsession, Max Yong. I held no interest in Max so I let them talk.
The lecturer was lecturing about parts of the eyeball. I knew everything about it thanks to my ‘study buddies’, Cheryl Sikopit and Casper Chia. We have been friends since primary school. And we’ll always meet after school to finish our homework till about 2:30pm. Then suddenly, I felt Darrelyn poking my elbow and I heard the lecturer calling out my name. “Hmm… Corina, it seems to me that you’re too busy daydreaming to listen to me. Can you please tell me which the most light sensitive spot on the retina is?” “That would be the yellow spot, Sir.” “Very good… You may sit. Please pay attention during class in the future.” “Yes. Sir.”

And that’s when I got it! The coolest idea I had in my life. “We should start a group,” I thought, “completed with a journal and a name.” I cut into their conversation and told them about my idea. Darrelyn loved it but all I got from Elaine is her famous “I want to kill you” look… Well, at least I have one supporter. Anyway, we got started quickly and after about 6 minutes of hard thinking, Darrelyn finally landed on CADE. It was lovely and it stuck on us. FYI, CADE stands for Corina, Allysha, Darrelyn and Elaine. Recess time, I told Allysha about our group. And I’m happy to say, she loved it!! Now all I need is a book…

That was how CADE got its name. Well, after a few months. Elaine and I had our first fight. It was over Darrelyn. Elaine finally burst my bubble and I yelled at her. Not a good thing to do at school. I got detention and a scolding from my class teacher. That time I thought it was worth it. We made up quickly though.

After my first “Break up and Make up” with Elaine, I desperately need a friend. So, Allysha came to my rescue. At first, I refused to tell her about my feelings but after a few days, I really, really need a friend. So… that’s how I became really close to Allysha… The second and third fights with Elaine came and at last, I told her that it’s better to just stay away from each other. So we were never friends ever again. Oh, and CADE broke~

So that’s how I end up being the most popular girl in school. I stayed firm friends with Darrelyn and Allysha and made more good friends just to forget about Elaine. In the end of year 2009, I was chosen The Warmest Friend of the Year. Oh, and the Most Popular (this I don’t know why).
